The neighbor I shouldn't have texted

It started with one message after midnight. By the time she knocked on my door, we both knew exactly why she came — and neither of us reached for the light switch.

I was sprawled on the couch, my phone dead weight in my hand. It was past two in the morning and I knew I should be asleep, but I'd been staring at the same unsent message for twenty minutes. It was addressed to Laura, my next-door neighbor. We'd met a few times in the hallway but never really spoken beyond a friendly hello.

"Can't sleep," it read. "If you're awake, come over for a glass of wine." I read it back one more time, told myself it was a terrible idea, and sent it anyway. Neighbors don't text each other at 2am for drinks. The three dots appeared almost at once.

"Be right over 😘" The kiss emoji made my heart skip a beat.

In minutes, there was a soft knock at my door. I opened it to find Laura standing there in a slinky silk robe that barely covered her curves. Her hair was tousled and her eyes sparkled with mischief.

"Hi there," she purred, brushing past me into the darkened apartment. "Lucky for you I was awake..."

I closed the door behind her, then watched as she sauntered over to my wine rack. While her back was turned, I let my gaze roam over her body, barely concealed by that flimsy robe. The way she moved, the sway of her hips, the curve of her ass... I felt my cock start to thicken in my sweats.

"What's your poison?" Laura asked, turning to me with a bottle of red. She held my gaze for a long moment, her eyes smoldering. "I hope this is to your liking..."

I swallowed hard, my mouth suddenly dry. "It's perfect," I managed to say, stepping closer to her. "But the wine isn't really why you're here, is it?"

She smiled slowly, then set the bottle down on the counter. "Maybe not," she admitted, her voice low and breathy. "I've seen you around, and I can't stop thinking about you. About what it would be like to be with you..."

Instinctively I reached for her, my hands finding the silken lapels of her robe. I tugged her closer, until I could feel the heat of her body through the thin fabric. She bit her lip and arched into me, her hands coming up to rest on my chest.

"I want you," I heard myself say, my lips a hairsbreadth from hers. "I can't stop thinking about you either."

"Then take me," Laura breathed, closing the distance and pressing her mouth to mine in a searing kiss. My hands slid down to grip her hips as I deepened the kiss, my tongue delving into the wet heat of her mouth. She tasted like wine and sin and I couldn't get enough of her.

We stumbled backward until the back of my legs hit the couch. I sat down hard, pulling her with me so she straddled my lap. She ground against the growing bulge in my sweats, her panty-clad mound rubbing along my length through the fabric. I could feel myself throbbing, my
